Grading reference: Association of Food Industries (AFI) cashew kernel specifications. AFI specifies 140–180 kernels/lb for size 180, 180–210 for size 210, and up to 10% broken kernels in wholes by weight. The narrower W180/W210 count ranges and ≤5% broken-kernel limit above are indicative buying requirements, subject to supplier agreement. Confirm the applicable standard, sampling method and all quality limits in the contract. JH and K are domestic trade names whose definitions must be agreed with the supplier.
Before requesting a quotation
- State the whole, split or piece grade and the grading standard required.
- Agree colour, count range, broken-kernel tolerance, moisture and sampling before confirming a lot.
- Confirm destination requirements, processor documents and the exact packing in the written quotation.
Include volume, destination, preferred Incoterm and shipment month. For domestic India enquiries, include the delivery city and request an INR quotation; minimum quantities and delivery terms are confirmed per order.
